Google’s another Self-Driving Car Is Noticed on Roads of California

Google is known to have experience in converting production cars into self-driving autos. It transformed the Toyota Prius and the Lexus RX hybrids into autonomous vehicles earlier. However, this time, the company designed a self-driving auto itself.

The car, which was noticed driving not far from the Googleplex in Mountain View, California, doesn’t only reveal the company’s designing capabilities. It’s one of the first autos designed specifically for autonomous driving tests.

As long as the California law requires some form of manual control to be present on board of any self-driving vehicle, there are people in it who have all means for prevention an accident (there are a steering wheel, brake pedals, and accelerator at their disposal). Also, the state authority restricted its top speed to 25 mph although the car’s potential is much higher. Although Google’s self-driving cars had a few accidents, it wasn’t their fault, the company affirms.

Many automakers are aimed at building self-driving autos nowadays. Nissan and Mercedes-Benz claimed they would unveil theirs by the end of the decade. Meanwhile, artists are invited to decorate autonomous cars by Google. Ten best designs offered will embellish the vehicles for about a month.
