The 2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Is Partly Removed from the Secret List

The Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet, which is going to be introduced closer to the end of the year and launched in early 2016, is already tested. Some details about the long-awaited auto have been identified and revealed.

In spy shots, the cabriolet very much resembles the S-Class Coupe. Well, it looks exactly the same except for a folding fabric roof. Actually, the models share taillights, significantly pinched windshield, and a large rear window.

The S-Class Cabriolet must acquire unique features as it accommodates a convertible top mechanism. One of them is its spaciousness so that adult passengers could enjoy the ride in such a luxurious auto. It should be reminded that back in 2006, Mercedes’s intention to create an elegant auto with a folding soft top was embodied in the four-door Ocean Drive concept.

The cabriolets are expected to be equipped with the same engines as the S-Class Coupe, namely with V8 and V12 petrol engines while the V6 isn’t included.

What makes an auto remarkable is not just design and performance but advanced technologies as well. The cabriolet is likely to have an autonomous driving traffic assistant, active suspension, and a new connectivity system.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet’s premier will take place at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September 2015. The cabriolet will compete with the Bentley Continental GTC, Maserati GranTurismo Convertible, and the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
